CARRAJUNG
ESTATE

Nestled among the Strzelecki Ranges, just two hours from Melbourne and half an hour from Traralgon, Carrajung Estate is the kind of place you stumble upon and never forget. This vineyard, restaurant, cellar door, event space and boutique accommodation blends laid-back country warmth and stylish design in one complete package.

New owners, Michelle and Alex, bring decades of experience in local and international hospitality, to add to their love of Gippsland’s relaxed charm. Their vision is simple yet ambitious: to offer guests a complete destination — to wine, dine, stay, and celebrate in style— without losing the soul and sincerity that make country hospitality special.

Eat

The kitchen, led by Executive Chef John Cooper, brings together more than a decade of experience and a deep knowledge of Gippsland’s premium local producers. Menus shift with the seasons — local lamb and beef, handmade pastas, coastal seafood, heirloom vegetables and cheeses from nearby dairies, estate-grown fruits and herbs and house made speciality breads and delicate desserts. The focus is on provenance and restraint, letting each local ingredient speak for itself, making Carrajung Estate Restaurant one of the best restaurants in Gippsland for food and wine enthusiasts.

For those who prefer relaxed dining, guests can order wood-fired pizzas and gourmet hampers delivered to their picnic blanket or luxury lodge door, to be enjoyed overlooking the vines, beside an outdoor bath or fireside in their lodge.

Drink

The wines at Carrajung Estate are earning serious attention. At the 2025 Gippsland Wine Awards, the Estate’s 2024 Chardonnay was awarded Gold with an impressive 95 points, recognising the quality of its cool-climate vineyard and meticulous approach to winemaking.

Current releases include the Chardonnay, crisp Riesling, elegant Sparkling Rosé, and a bold Shiraz Cabernet blend. Alex is hands-on in the vineyard and has plans for new varietals and vineyard extension, mirroring the region’s reputation for premium Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.

Visitors can enjoy guided tastings at the cellar door, by the fire or simply sip a glass on the terrace overlooking the vines.
