Gippsland Wine awards

The Gippsland Wine Awards are a unique opportunity for exhibitors to see their wines in context with fellow producers. Vintage conditions, management techniques and knowledge can be shared, putting us all in a stronger position to strive for improvement. Gippsland wines are creating quite a stir at a national level. There is a lot of positive interest emerging about our region and the wine awards are a terrific vehicle for us to band together to capitalise on this momentum.

I would like to thank our very experienced judging panel for giving their time to our wine awards. I particularly thank our chair of judges PJ Charteris. PJ is a highly accomplished and very experienced wine judge and wine maker. His wine knowledge is extensive, and his enthusiasm is boundless He was very excited at the prospect of exploring the wines of Gippsland and spreading the good word. 2018 is PJ’s last year as chair at the Gippsland Wine Awards- thanks for the last 3 years!

In my role as chief steward, I would also like to thank our hard working team. The success of the day is a credit to the efficiency and diligence of our stewards who all put in a mighty effort. Our judging panel commented they have never seen such a slick operation, so thank you all.

Congratulations to all award winners.

See you all again next year.
